Hi, I’m Amir! I became President of Effective Communicators in July, and I’m excited to give back to the club that has given me so much.

I’m a solutions engineer, so presenting is a big part of my job, and I work with people of all backgrounds and personalities. Toastmasters has helped me sharpen my speaking skills, think on my feet, and ease the nerves I used to feel before presenting or even just joining a meeting.

My secret? There isn’t one. I simply kept showing up, taking on meeting roles, and participating. That repetition is what built my confidence.

As President, I want to help every member experience that same growth. If speaking in front of others makes you nervous, come visit us. You’ll fit right in!

Hi, I’m Hana! I became the Vice President of Education for Effective Communicators in July, and I’m excited to take on this role and contribute to a club that has been such a positive part of my Toastmasters journey.

Professionally, I’m a scientist and leader in the clinical research field, where I lead teams supporting the development of clinical trials. Outside of work, I’m also a wife and mother of two, which keeps life busy, interesting, and always full of learning opportunities!

I joined Toastmasters to strengthen my communication and presentation skills, and the experience has been incredibly rewarding. It has challenged me to step outside my comfort zone, become more intentional about how I communicate, and continue growing as both a speaker and a leader.

As VP of Education, I look forward to supporting our members in achieving their individual Toastmasters goals while continuing my own learning journey alongside them. I truly believe we all have something to learn from one another, and I’m excited to see what we can accomplish together!

Hi, I’m Edith! I’m the Vice President of Membership for Effective Communicators, and I’m excited to take on this role and continue growing with the club.

Professionally, I work in operations and management, with experience in healthcare and financial services. I’m also currently studying Business Administration as I continue building my skills and working toward my long-term career goals.

I joined Toastmasters because I wanted to become more confident speaking in front of others and expressing my ideas. Since joining, I’ve learned that confidence doesn’t always come before you try. Sometimes, it comes from simply showing up, participating, and challenging yourself little by little.

As VP of Membership, I want to help guests and new members feel welcomed and comfortable. I was once the new person walking into a Toastmasters meeting too, so I know it can feel intimidating at first. You don’t have to be a confident speaker to join. That’s something we can build together.

Hello, my name is Mukobe Lukwesa, and I am the Vice President of Public Relations for Effective Communicators.

I joined Toastmasters to strengthen my communication skills; not only when speaking in front of peers, coworkers, and strangers, but also in 1:1 conversations. As a scientist, communication and collaboration are essential parts of my work, and Toastmasters has been a rewarding experience that has helped me build confidence, find my voice, and step into leadership within the club.

Hi, I’m Prabu! I have been a past President, VP of Membership, and Treasurer of the Effective Communicators Toastmasters Club. I joined so that I could learn to be less anxious and more thoughtful when speaking, both during 1:1 conversations and when speaking to large groups.

In this club, I’ve made good friends and really challenged myself in a supportive environment. As an ER doctor, humanitarian worker, and recent candidate for political office, the skills I’ve gained in this club have expanded my comfort zone and strengthened my ability to lead.
