Who we are
Toastmasters, minus the intimidation
Toastmasters is a worldwide, member-run program for getting better at public speaking and leadership. Effective Communicators is your local chapter: a warm, low-key room where you give short talks, get encouraging feedback, and build confidence at your own pace. No experts here — just people a few steps further along, happy to have you.
Speak more clearly
Real practice at a real lectern, in front of a live audience — the only thing that actually builds the skill.
Grow as a leader
Run a part of the evening, take on a role, plan a meeting. Leadership is just speaking up with a purpose.
Among friends
A small group that claps for effort, gives kind and specific feedback, and celebrates progress over polish.
When & where
Twice a month, 7:00–8:30 PM ET
Meetings run about ninety minutes, so you can come after work and still have your evening.

Here’s exactly what happens
Not knowing what to expect is what stops most people. So here is the whole evening, start to finish — no surprises.
You arrive, and someone says hi
A greeter meets you at the door, introduces you around, and finds you a seat. That is the hardest part, and it is over in a minute.
A few prepared talks
Members give short 5–7 minute speeches from the Toastmasters Pathways program. You just watch and enjoy them.
Table Topics
Quick, fun, off-the-cuff answers to a light question. Guests are invited but never obligated — plenty of first-timers just soak it in.
Warm, specific feedback
Evaluators point out what worked and offer one kind idea to build on. Encouragement is the whole culture here.
Done by 8:30, on the dot
A friendly Timer keeps us on schedule with green-yellow-red cards. You leave a little braver than you came in.
Becoming a member
No rush — most people visit first
Come a couple of times as a guest. When it feels right, join — there’s nothing to decide on your first evening. Modest dues cover your Toastmasters International membership and the club’s costs, and unlock the full Pathways program.
